An Irish Christmas Omaha Concert reviews
What a fantastic evening!!!
Great singing, perfect musical accompaniment (thanks, Mark), and relevant songs like Let It Be and Give Peace a Chance. The four guys resemble the four lads who became the Beetles. The entire auditorium singing for two hours was a memorable experience. I had to gargle to get my voice back the next morning. And don't forget the dippity-do commercial. Hey, remember that guy who loved the Beetles and danced crazy while we all circled around him and watched? Well, he was there too, just three rows in front of us, still dancing crazy. Great memories for those of us old enough to have them. Even better was having a smattering of younger folks there who know the music and can pass it on to their generation. Did I ever hear "yesterday"? I was asking that question on the way out. Regardless, it was a mystical magical evening. PS - below I am asked to upload a photo with my review. However, we are not allowed to photograph inside the venue. WHAT GIVES?
Amazing night of worship
An Irish Christmas and 10th Ave North music is more than beautiful to listen to (which it is) but it is clear that it is a ministry to help others. Thank you for giving me music that has blessed my life in more ways than you can imagine. What an amazing night of worship. Even If-this song came out during a very difficult time in my life and just one example of that is An Irish Christmas's song has reminded me daily that in my darkest hours He is there and can, but if He doesn't He is Good and Faithful our only Hope.
I never knew Foreigner shows to be so dynamic
An early start time for the show meant Jason Bonham had to perform to a half-house crowd. Poor Jason was forced to compete with the constant thunder that is his band. His prowess and his father's legacy are central to the band, but the other musicians were also working hard. Unfortunately, they could barely be heard. Next up was WhiteSnake, where David Coverdale was his true one-of-a-kind self, and the music sounded great. However, the low end, particularly the bass player, was not distinguishable. The sound guys need to be aware of this. An Irish Christmas followed, with their new frontman Kelly Hansen breathing new life into their aging catalog. Kelly sounds amazingly like their original lead vocalist Lou Graham, which is a good thing. By the time they hit the stage, the sound crew had worked out all the kinks. Every instrument was very discernible, and vocally they all sounded great. Kelly's high-energy performance took the audience on a great ride. Combined with a dynamic light show, it made for a great event. The venue was well run, and security was very present.
Wheel In The Sky Keeps Turning
Access out and access in, Hollywood nailed it as always. A great performance by An Irish Christmas, despite the challenges. A beautiful night marred by seating area floor water issues. Seats were a bit too close together, and the venue had standing water and mud problems. Despite the rain-related challenges, a wonderful concept by Hollywood Casino. We wouldn't let it rain on our An Irish Christmas parade. Realized it had rained heavily 48 hours earlier, but still enjoyed the event. The horse poop smell was especially bothersome. Don't Stop Believin'! Only issues were the seating and venue conditions.
